My area of research is representation theory. In particular, the modular representations of algebraic groups, finite groups of Lie type, and Lie algebras.
I am a co-organizer of the Southern Regional Algebra Conference 2017 (SRAC 2017), hosted by the University of South Alabama in March 2017.
I am a co-organizer of the Mobile Math Teachers' Circle. The Teachers' Circle is an organization where local middle-school mathematics teachers meet with professional mathematicians in a friendly, non-intimidating environment.
I am a co-organizer of the Mobile Mathematics Circle. The Mobile Mathematics Circle is a weekly gathering of students of high school age guided by professional mathematicians. It is designed for students who enjoy math and want the challenge of exciting problems that are normally outside the school curriculum. The following article about the Circle appeared in the Mobile Press Register. Here is a short report on last year's Circle activities.
