USA South CARES Technology Access Program (TAP)
In Fall of 2020, working in collaboration with institutional administration and the CARES fund program, South CARES developed the USA South CARES Technology Access Program as a short-term emergency response to the transition to online learning during the pandemic. Through ongoing institutional support and the generous support of donors, we are pleased to continue offering this program as a way to help students with unmet need obtain the technology required for this new learning environment.
We understand that every student’s situation is unique and each request will be considered carefully and confidentially.
A student's application should include a brief description of the specific need and a statement of how the need has is impacting their current academic semester.
Students must be a UG or GR student, in good standing in a degree-seeking program, with exhibited unmet need and have exhausted all other aid options.
Unmet need is evaluated by the data supplied to the institution through a completed FAFSA.
If a student is the recipient of institutional benefits (employee benefits, graduate assistantships) that are intended to cover the student educational expenses, they will not be eligible for this programming.
If a student is the recipient of a third party contract or aid source intended to cover technology or educational supplies, they will not be eligible for this program.
The USA South CARES Technology Access Program is made possible through support from the Office of the President, the Office of the Vice President of Finance and Administration, as well as the generous donations of USA faculty, staff, alumni and donors. Thank you!!!
