The University of South Alabama will celebrate Homecoming 2011 with the theme “South’s Got Game,” Oct. 10-16. The students, faculty, staff, alumni and surrounding communities are invited to enjoy a host of activities including athletic and alumni events, a pep rally, and a magic show featuring magician and illusionists Adam Trent. The event is free and open to the public.
Jaguar Productions is sponsoring the performance by Trent who is known for his entertaining and magical shows. The free performance, which is high-energy, blends dancing and singing with innovative stage illusions, charming wit and emotion to create an experience that’s part magic show, concert and stand-up comedy. On Tuesday, Oct. 11, the USA Alumni Association will host its “Leisurely Lunch” from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Fresh Food Dining Hall. On Thursday, Oct. 13, the community is invited to participate in the Jag Swag, a new informal campus parade tradition that will start at Stokes Hall at 6:15 p.m., followed by a pep rally at Moulton Tower and Alumni Plaza.
On Friday, Oct. 14, the Alumni Association is also hosting a lunch with Coach Joey Jones at noon at the Football Field House. Tickets are $15 for alumni and $20 for non-members. There will be a Wall of Honor Unveiling at 5:15 p.m. at Moulton Tower and Alumni Plaza. The public is invited to a Homecoming parade that will begin at 6 p.m. on the main campus. Homecoming Day, on Saturday, Oct. 15, will feature the USA Jaguar football game against University of Tennessee-Martin at 2:30 p.m. at Ladd-Peebles Stadium.
