Student Academic Success and Retention | University of South Alabama
Faculty In Residence
The Faculty in Residence is a dynamic faculty member who is strongly supportive of undergraduate education and student success. They have a commitment to integrating research and teaching, and will encourage students to actively participate in academic inquiry. The Faculty in Residence should also have strong classroom teaching skills and will be active in bringing academic resources into the residential setting. In addition to leading academic programming in the residence hall they will also join students for meals at the USA dining areas. Additionally, the Faculty in Residence should intentionally promote the integration of engaged inquiry in residential space by being available for set “hours,” which can include visiting on the halls or meeting in the another space in the building.

The Faculty in Residence receives housing in the residence hall at no charge. He or she also receives a nine-month meal plan through USA dining services. We require a one year commitment and consider renewals. We encourage interested faculty to apply. Families are welcome.
