William Spikes
Major: Chemistry (Pre-Med) Areas of Expertise: Chemistry
Bio: I was born on September 8, 1993, in Mobile, Alabama and have lived here all of my life. I have one older sibling, a sister, and many cousins. My family is a very important part of my life, and I thoroughly enjoy every second I get to spend with them. I also enjoy hanging out or just doing anything with my friends, who are just extra family members to me. I have always had a passion for school (call me a “nerd” if you wish). I attended primary school at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic School from 1998-2007 in Tillmans Corner, Alabama. My Alma Mater is Theodore High School in Theodore, Alabama, I graduated second in my class in 2011. I am currently starting my second year of college and have enjoyed it since the first day. As for activities in college, I do research under Dr. Stenson in the chemistry department, I am a member of Alpha Epsilon Delta (a pre-professional honor society), and a member of the Catholic Student Association. I look forward to my first time being a supplemental instructor, I have always enjoyed helping people with homework they just do not get.

Hetal Patel
Major: Biomedical Sciences (Chemistry Minor) Areas of Expertise: CH 132 or lower, MA 126 or lower, LGS 131
Bio: Hi, my name is Hetal Patel and I am a senior Biomedical Sciences major. I plan on graduating this year and going on Medical School next fall. If I have learned something throughout my undergrad years, it’s that college can be fun if you know how to balance the fun and schoolwork. As a senior, I think I have finally learned how to balance the two, and it would’ve been great if I learned that early on in my college career, and this is why I chose to be a Supplemental Instructor. To keep the two things balanced, you need to start with your classes. Classes can be quite difficult, but when you work with others from your class along with someone who has recently been through what you’re about to go through, the class will get easier. You may make up some crazy song or another weird way to help you remember something important for a class, and those strange methods will permanently lodge that bit of information into your brain forever. I specifically chose to SI for chemistry because I feel like I can help others in this area after having worked in the department for the past couple of years. I look forward to working with the students this coming year.
