Bridget Pardue
Major: Foreign Language - French Areas of Expertise: Visual Basic programming, French language, Latin language, history
Bio: I'm Bridget, and I'm a senior in the Foreign Languages department. I started with a double major in Information Systems, but then I realized it would take five and a half years to graduate...I decided to stick with French because I love to teach and want to get my masters of education and become a secondary school teacher. For the last year, I've been a Freshman Year Experience Peer Academic Leader, and I've made presentations and contributed to the FYE textbook on active reading. I have experience tutoring in three languages - French, Latin, and Visual Basic.
I was born in Mobile but have spent four years living in Florida and six years in Minnesota, and have been back in Mobile for the last ten years, going to high school at McGill-Toolen and spending a year at Auburn University before returning to attend South Alabama. I've also traveled abroad as part of my French degree and spent six weeks living and attending school in Dijon, France in summer 2011 - one of my big dreams is to get back out and travel more around Europe and east Asia. In addition to travel and teaching, I love reading, writing, sewing, cooking, and many, many things on the geek spectrum. (You can often find me on weekends at Gamers N Geeks on Old Shell.) I'm also a member of the Honors College. In what's left of my spare time, I do amateur history research, specializing in France during the Age of Revolution.
