USA Safety and Emergency Management Training Finds New Home on Main Campus

The USA Safety and Emergency Management curriculum teaches a diverse range of courses for industry professionals. Courses include the OSHA ten and thirty hour Hazmat certifications along with courses such as fire extinguisher training and confined space entry. The most recent Hazmat course included staff from Shell, Dupont, Sovereign Consulting, Army Corp of Engineers and Keesler Air Force Base. USA Continuing Education provides technical training for Airbus Americas Engineering.

The USA Center for Continuing Education recently completed a customized training program for Airbus Americas Engineering, Inc. in Microsoft Excel. Center staff met with key personnel from the engineering staff to identify areas of their daily functions that could benefit from specialized training in Excel. The curriculum was blended into a two session course that allowed Airbus staff to quickly cover the tasks and functions of a basic course, then spend more time exploring the intermediate capabilities of Excel in relation to their daily functions.  

Dr. Woody Hannum named Professor Emeritus of History and Interdisciplinary Studies

On September 4th, the Board of Trustees for the University of South Alabama appointed Dr. Ellwood “Woody” Hannum Professor Emeritus of History and Interdisciplinary Studies. Dr. Hannum excelled in teaching and service to the University in addition to generating new knowledge through research and scholarship, and for serving as a consistently inspiring influence to many USA Students. SCESP would like to congratulate Dr. Hannum and thank him for his service.

USA Baldwin County Welcomes New Criminal Justice Instructor

Fairhope, AL-   USA Baldwin County is proud to announce and welcome Michael Hollingsworth as the new Criminal Justice Advisor and instructor.  Hollingsworth will be responsible for advising, teaching, and recruiting for the Criminal Justice program at the Fairhope campus.  He joins the Baldwin County campus from Old Dominion University (ODU) in Norfolk, Va., where he is currently a Ph.D. candidate in Criminology and Criminal Justice.  Hollingsworth has experience in additional academic disciplines too which he can use to help students with varying interests that extend beyond criminal justice.

USA SCESP welcomes Dr. Evelyn Green to the Hospitality and Tourism degree program

The USA School of Continuing Education and Special Programs welcomes Dr. Evelyn Green to our team. Dr. Green most recently served as a faculty member with the University of Nevada at Las Vegas - Singapore Campus. Dr. Green has a wealth of knowledge in hospitality, tourism, and gaming.
