Gwendolyn McCann-Mulumba

Gwendolyn McCann-Mulumba has worked as a stage, film, and television actress in New York City and around the country. She was a company member and leading lady with the Oregon Shakespeare Festival for four years. Some of her roles and plays include: Marian Paroo (Music Man), Innkeeper’s wife (Don Quixote’), various roles (Further Adventures of Hedda Gabler), Jenny Sutter (Welcome Home Jenny Sutter), Varya (Cherry Orchard), Black Mary (Gem of the Ocean), Witch (Macbeth), various roles (Distracted), Esther Mills and Mayme (Intimate Apparel), Mother Courage (Mother Courage), Vera and Ruby (Seven Guitars), and others. Film and television roles include “Beautiful Creatures”, “The Guiding Light”, “The Hurricane”, “Head of State”, “Law and Order”, and she just completed filming “Lila & Eve”, which stars Viola Davis, Jennifer Lopez, and Yolanda Ross, and is due for theatrical release in early 2015. McCann-Mulamba is a native Mobilian, alumni of Blount High School, and has returned home to live and teach here.
