Lyle Miller is a Professor of Performance in Technical Theatre and Stage Design. He received his B.F.A. in Design and Technical Theatre from the University of Oklahoma and his M.F.A. in Scenic and Lighting Design from the University of Oklahoma. Professor Miller taught at Morehead State University and the University of North Florida before joining the faculty in the Department of Dramatic Arts in 1985. In 2006 he was awarded the Outstanding Teacher of the Year Award by the University of South Alabama Student Government Association. Professor Miller has designed sets and/or lights for over 190 productions. He has designed for The Minnesota Opera, Lyric Theatre of Oklahoma, The Cincinnati School for the Performing Arts, The Oklahoma Theatre Center, Joe Jefferson Players and the Mobile Theatre Guild. His design for the Mobile Theatre Guild’s production of Marvin Room received the award for Outstanding Set and Technical Direction at the American Association of Community Theatres Region IV Festival and the Excellent in Design Award at the Dundalk International Maytime Festival in Dundalk, Ireland.
