The thermal/fluid laboratory is an undergraduate laboratory used to illustrate and reinforce basic engineering science principles and applications in the thermal-fluid sciences Visual observation of laminar and turbulent flow in tubes, velocity profiles measurements, blower and pump performance are some of the fluid mechanics related principles and applications. Heat exchanger operation and performance experiments are available. Thermal systems are refrigeration and heat pump, gasoline or diesel engine testing on a dynamometer, and a operational steam power plant with an adjustable light bank load.
