THE DEPARTMENT OF MECHANICAL ENGINEERING AT UNIVERSITY OF
SOUTH ALABAMA invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level. Exceptionally qualified applicants may be considered for more senior appointments. Applicants should have a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field, an outstanding academic record, a demonstrated commitment to excellence in undergraduate and graduate education, and be capable of establishing a strong research program. Applicants must be legally able to work in the United States. Opportunities exist for collaborative research with faculty in the University’s College of Medicine and with the growing aerospace and maritime industries in the area. The Department has an ABET accredited undergraduate program and a Masters program. The starting date for the appointment is August 15, 2008.
