Geography

Geography is the science of the location, spatial distribution, and spatial interaction of Earth's physical and human environments. Special attention is given to biogegraphy, climatology, cultural geography, economic geography, environmenal geography, historical geography, meteorology, soil geography, and urban geography. A certificate in Geographic Information Science is also available.

Geology

Geology is the science of the Earth, its composition, and the forces and processes that form and change it. Key subject areas in the USA geology program include mineralogy, petrology, paleontology, environmental geology, structural geology, stratigraphy and geophysics. USA Graduates are well prepared for careers in petroleum exploration, economic mineral exploration, hydrogeology, coastal sedimentology/management, GIS/Planning, or for graduate studies in any or all of these areas.


 

Meteorology

Meteorology is the science of the atmosphere. A meteorologist, as defined by the American Meteorological Society, is "a person with a specialized education who uses scientific principles to explain, observe, understand, or forecast the earth's atmospheric phenomenon and/or how the atmosphere affects the earth and life on this planet."
