The Au.D. curriculum was devised with the intention of training future Doctors of Audiology who have a broad range of skills and experiences that will allow them to operate clinically and professionally at an independent and high level. Special attention has been devoted to the development of courses and clinical experiences that address the competencies required by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association as well as other important issues such as family centered intervention, multicultural concerns, team-based service delivery, outcome-driven clinical decision-making across the lifespan, and ethical clinical practice considerations. Doctor of Physical Therapy
The Doctor of Physical Therapy Program (DPT) is a clinical entry-level Physical Therapy program that consists of eight semesters (32 continuous months) of full-time didactic coursework and 33 weeks of PT clinical internship. One hundred eighteen (118) semester hours of course work are required for the degree. The Commission on Accreditation of Physical Therapy Education has accredited the program. Physician Assistant Studies
Master of Health Science in Physician Assistant Studies
The Physician Assistant Studies (M.H.S.) program prepares the student to enter clinical practice as a Physician Assistant in a variety of clinical settings. The major aim of the program is to prepare primary care practitioners. Although the student's undergraduate major is not specified, certain prerequisites are required for admission to the program. The program consists of 27 continuous months of study and is divided into two components. The first is the Preclinical Component consisting of 15 months of study of basic and clinical medical sciences. The second is the Clinical Component consisting of 12 months of clinical preceptorships in Medicine, Surgery, Pediatrics, Family Practice, Emergency Medicine, Obstetrics and Gynecology and specialty electives.
One class is accepted each year with classes beginning in late May. Application deadline for the program is November 15.
