The students, faculty, and staff of the USA Honors Program are committed to academic excellence and to service to the University and the surrounding community. The goal of Honors Program faculty is to offer a premier educational experience for outstanding students. Honors classes are small and taught by dynamic faculty members. All Honors freshmen have a faculty mentor, and all Honors seniors write a thesis under the direction of a research faculty member and committee. Each semester the Honors Program offers unique seminars created solely for the program and encourages Study Abroad to extend students' educational horizons. Students admitted to the USA Honors Program each spring may be eligible to receive a prestigious four-year Frederick P. Whiddon Scholarship. All students enjoy the fantastic Honors Building, with plenty of space for studying or for hanging out. In the Honors Building, particularly, one sees the wonderful camaraderie of Honors students that complements the research and service at the center of the Program. |
