The Residence Hall contract is binding for one entire academic year, consisting of fall and spring semesters. If you sign a Residence Hall contract for fall semester and sign for a key you are obligated to the Residence Hall contract for fall and spring semesters. If you sign a Residence Hall contract and sign for a room key at the beginning of spring semester you are obligated for spring semester only. Summer Residence Hall contracts are binding for summer term only.   While you are living in the residence halls you must be enrolled at the University of South Alabama.   See the Residence Hall Contract and Terms and Conditions.   Cancellation of Residence Hall Contract (Read Carefully)   Cancellation of the residence hall contract will ONLY be considered under the following conditions: withdrawal from the University or you do not enroll for classes for the next semester, graduation, marriage during the term of the contract, internship outside the Mobile area, or dismissal or suspension from the University. Written documentation is required. All cancellations will be charged be charged the cancellation fee in effect at the time of cancellation. See the University Academic Calendar for refund periods.   If you withdraw from the University during the semester you must complete a cancellation form in your area office within 24 hours (you must show your withdrawal form). If you withdraw during the semester you must also check-out of the residence hall within 72 hours of your cancellation (this includes passing the check-out inspection and returning your room key to your RA).   Cancellation of the housing contract will not be considered due to lack of financial resources, dietary or medical needs, or religious reasons.
