Perdido River
Come join Campus Recreation and Outdoor Adventures with the Canoe and Kayak on the Perdido River on Saturday, September 26. This is as easy float trip with no rapids and will be fun for both beginners and advanced paddlers. The Perdido River demarcates the state line between Alabama and Florida. We will begin our trip at Barrieneau Park and then be taken by a semi-swift current for 4 miles and 2 hours along remote pine and oak wooded areas. We’ll see lots of NO TRESPASSING signs and private hunting camps and small bayous, bogs, and feeder streams that can be navigated for short distances and provide an environment much different from that of the river. We will pack lunch and eat on the river.
Please check out our WEB page at “southalabama.edu/outdoor” for pictures of previous trips and our entire Fall itinerary.
