HOT AIR BALLOONING
Come join Campus Recreation and Outdoor Adventures for a Hot Air Balloon Ride on Saturday, November 10.
We will “fly like an eagle” 1500 feet above the ground and enjoy breathtaking sights of the Eastern Shore of the Bay. No work involved; just relax and enjoy the majestic views.

Due to air patterns, we will be flying in the early morning. We will depart from Campus Recreation 90 minutes prior to sunrise and arrive at our destination in Magnolia Springs, AL., 30 minutes prior to sunrise. We will split into 2 groups of three – four (weight maximum of 600 lbs.); each of the three groups will get to fly for 20 minutes as the other groups “give chase” in a pursuit car. The balloon will land “where it chooses” and the next group will swap out. At ballooning’s end, we will go out as a group for brunch and brag about our trip.
Cost (per person): Group of 3 (with a total weight under 600 lbs.): $150 per person. Group of 4 (with a total weight under 600 lbs.): $115 per person. We will supply transportation, you supply yourself. Brunch is not included. Children as young as six may fly; HOWEVER, they must not be of the timid nature because the balloon burners do make a somewhat intimidating noise and the height can prove somewhat “challenging” for the vertically challenged. We will supply transportation, you supply yourself. Brunch is not included.
How to sign-up: Respond to this e-mail with your name, phone number and weight. We will call you to confirm your place on the trip along with your cost (depending on if we get you in a group of 3 or 4). We will accept registrants until 3 days prior to trip if space allows. Fee is non-refundable within 3 days of trip UNLESS we can replace you or trip is canceled. Checks will not be deposited until completion of trip; if trip is canceled, all fees will be refunded.
Trip limit: six to eight (dependent upon weight of participants.)
