Student Health Center Staff Members
 
The Student Health Center (SHC) is located in Suite 1200 of the Health Services Building. Student Health Services are available during each semester to all students actively enrolled in the University.
 
The USA Student Health Center is staffed by a Physician, Physician Assistants, Nurse Practitioners and Registered Nurses, all dedicated to provide quality medical and educational services to the entire student body, when school is in session.
 
The cost for services provided by the doctor or nurse is covered by the student’s health fee which is paid upon registration each semester. Routine lab work, immunizations and supplies may be provided at a minimal charge with payment due at the time services are rendered.
 
The student health fee is not health insurance. It does not cover major medical illness or injury, emergency room visits, laboratory of radiology services of medical referrals. All expenses incurred, i.e. hospital room per diems, physician charges, laboratory, x-ray, pharmacy fees, etc. are the responsibility of the student.
   
A Health Insurance Policy is available to students of the University of South Alabama for a nominal fee. Students are encouraged to enroll in this policy if they do not have other medical insurance.
   
A chart is maintained on each student visiting the Student Health Center. All records are confidential. The Student Health Center does not provide medical excuses for missed classes or examinations.
