Grading of Assessment Questions

4.1 Omission of Assessment Questions

    

4.1.1 Questions will be omitted from scoring a biweekly exam for the following reasons:

 

4.1.1.1 Software technical problems

 

4.1.1.1.1 Software technical problems prevent a question from being answered correctly by everyone (calculator is not working, video is not playing, etc.)

 

4.1.1.1.2 A question will be thrown out for an individual student, but not the class, if technical problems for only that student's workstation prevent a question from being answered correctly (calculator is not working, video is not playing, etc.). The problem must be demonstrated to the exam proctor during, not after, the exam. If multiple but not all students have a problem, the question will be thrown out.

 

4.1.1.2 The question vignette is complete but none of the possible answers are acceptable.

 

4.1.1.3 The question vignette is incomplete, precluding a reasonable best answer.

 

4.1.1.4 Information in the question was not covered or is in the wrong exam.

 

4.1.1.5 Even if a student assumes the correct intended answer for 14, the question will be thrown out because it cannot be distinguished from a guess.

             

4.1.2 Credit will be given for the following reasons:

 

4.1.2.1 The question has multiple correct posted answers. Only each correct answer is credited.

 

4.1.2.2 Question is keyed incorrectly.
