When complications from preeclampsia and HELLP syndrome put Kat’s life at risk during pregnancy, USA Health teams at Children’s & Women’s Hospital and University Hospital worked together to care for both her and her son, Leo. Born at just 32 weeks, Leo spent time in the NICU while Kat faced life-threatening complications of her own. Today, Kat is back at work as a nurse, and Leo is healthy and precious as can be all thanks to the specialized, compassionate care they received at USA Health.
