"Just a quick update for the alum roster, I am currently working as an academic
fellow for the United States Air Force at Brooks Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas. Right now my main responsibility involves
developing a study for a possible cluster of individuals with Amyotrophic Lateral
Sclerosis (Lou Gehrig's Disease) who were previously employed by Kelly Air Force Base
(also in San Antonio). I've been here since April, and my fellowship will run for 1
year, with the possibility of renewing for 2 more years.
It's been very interesting so far,
and i've enjoyed seeing this area of the country." wilmcgriff@hotmail.com |

(Hopkins) Varden '94 [Aug. 27] "Still working in College of Education...working on my dissertation this semester, so hopefully I'll be done soon. Guess who I saw last weekend? Michael and Holly Pursley. Michael iscompleting his cardiology fellowship in Lexington, KY, and is on the interview trail. He interviewed with two practices here, so who knows? Holly interviewed with USA. She's been specializing in women's health issues. I believe she either already has or is in the process of recieving a degree in Public Health. Needless to say, they've been busy. David LaRosa also was in town. I also heardMichael Russo joined a practice in Dallas, TX (pediatrics). Also, Bobby Percy just finished his fellowship in pulmonology and is joining my husband's practice at Diagnostic and Medical with the Infirmary." CVarden@usamail.usouthal.edu |

Keith '01 [Sept. 7] "Greetings to you all from my new home in Tennessee! As of early this week [Sept. 16], I am a resident of Nashville, TN. I completed an entire summer of slaving away on the beautiful beaches of florida's emerald coast. I'm in Nashville to finally start working on the project that you have all heard me talk so much about. I'm going to be volunteering through Americorps for the "healthy start plus program", educating expecting and new mothers on the importance of pre-natal care and immunizations (just to brief you on the program)."
