Alexander (BMD '01) ca9@ornl.gov
June 4, 2003 I am actually working at Oak Ridge National Lab here in Tennessee. We are doing micro-gravity crystallization experiments on the nucleosome core particle and the p53 tumor suppressor protein. We still have some crystals on the international space station stranded due to the Columbia tragedy. I am starting a Masters program at the University of Tennessee this Fall (hopefully) in Comparative and Experimental Medicine. My family thinks I want to be a mad scientist. Basically I would get my degree working on this molecule I am already working on at work so it works out nicely. Tell everyone I said, "Hello." Oh yeah, Emily [Herbert, BMD '01] says "Hey" as well. |

| From Susie Wimpee (BMD
'01) wimpees@aruplab.com 6/4/03 Dr. Itaya! It's been 2 years now that I have been in Salt Lake and I'm still enjoying it...cold weather and all!! The temperatures are finally reaching the 80-90s! Nothing like Mobile weather. I am still working at ARUP Laboratories as a Certified Laboratory Specialist in Molecular Biology. It sounds impressive, but it's still PCR. I was accepted into USA's PA program, along with George Washington Univ and Utah.....I decided to stay at the Univ of Utah!!! It's a big feeling of relief to finally be accepted. I start this August and will finish in 2005. |

'03) tonyacauley@hotmail.com 6/4/03 Hey Dr. Itaya! All is great here. [after 2.5 weeks of PA Studies] We had our first Anatomy test on Monday - piece of cake, and Physiology was today. Everything in my Physiology class I have seen before. I'm sure that will change, but it's really nice for now. |

The wedding will be in New Orleans. The wedding website is at: www.jeradandjennyswedding.ontheweb.com | |
