TENURE-TRACK POSITION IN BIOMEDICAL SCIENCES

The Department of Biomedical Sciences at the University of South Alabama has expanded into new facilities and seeks candidates for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level.  The Biomedical Sciences Department at USA offers a B.S. degree curriculum designed for undergraduates interested in pursuing post baccalaureate study in all areas of medicine and health professions as well as biomedical research. Candidates must have a Ph. D. or equivalent in Physiology or Pharmacology with 2 years postdoctoral experience; and have the expertise to teach human physiology and pharmacology.  The successful candidate will be expected to develop an active research program and mentor undergraduate research projects.  Review of applications will begin on November 20, 2009 and will continue until the position is filled, with an estimated start date of June 1, 2010.  Applications should include a cover letter of interest, a current CV, and 3 letters of reference (to be sent directly from the reference).  The application material should be sent via regular mail or e-mail to: Dr. Michael Spector, Professor, Department of Biomedical Sciences, 307 University Blvd., N., HAHN 4021, University of South Alabama, Mobile, AL 36688-0002 or mspector@usouthal.edu.
