NSF-REU site on STRUCTURE AND FUNCTION OF PROTEINS
SUMMER 2009
The University of South Alabama offers an
interdisciplinary undergraduate research program sponsored by
the National Science Foundation to work for 10 weeks over the
summer semester in the area of "Structure and Function
of Proteins". Students accepted to the
program must have a strong interest in basic research, and are
expected to work full time in their projects under the direction
of faculty advisors.

Information
Applicants must be US
citizens or Permanent Residents (Green Card).
Students must have
completed an Organic Chemistry sequence before the summer.
All participants receive a stipend, free
housing, food allowance and travel expenses.
Neither the
University of South Alabama nor the National Science
Foundation can provide health insurance to participants in
the program. All participants are
fully responsible for their own healthinsurance coverage.
