Master Sergeant Timothy L. Wright is a native of Augusta, Georgia. He entered the United States Army in March 1989 and completed One Station Unit Training as an Armored Reconnaissance Specialist at Fort Knox, Kentucky.

MSG Wright’s stateside assignments include tours with 4th Battalion, 64 Armor at Fort Stewart Georgia; 1st Battalion 23 Infantry at Fort Lewis, Washington; 2 Battalion 69th Armor at Fort Benning Georgia; the United States Army Noncommissioned Officers Academy at Fort Knox, Kentucky; Joint Readiness Training Center (JROTC) as an Observer Control, at Fort Polk, Louisiana; 2nd 13th Cavalry at Fort Bliss, Texas where he deployed to Iraq in support of Operation New Dawn ‘11-‘12 and he also deployed to Afghanistan in the support Operation Enduring Freedom ‘04-‘05.

He has also served overseas with 1st Battalion 38th Infantry at Mainz, Germany; 1st Battalion 48th Infantry at Mannheim, Germany; 3rd Squadron 4th Cavalry at Schofield Barracks Hawill, where he deployed to Afghanistan in the support of Operation Enduring Freedom and  4th Squadron 7th Cavalry at Camp Hover, Korea.

MSG Wright’s military education includes the Warrior Leadership Course, the Basic and Advanced Noncommissioned Officer Courses, First Sergeants Course, Battle Staff Course, Master Fitness Course, and Airborne Course. He has an Associate’s Degree in Political Science from Central Texas College. MSG Wright has served in numerous leadership positions within Cavalry, Armor and Infantry units including: Bradley Commander, Section Sergeant, Platoon Sergeant, and First Sergeant.

His most recent assignment was the First Sergeant of Bandit Troop in the 2nd Squadron 13th Cavalry Fort Bliss, Texas and also as the First Sergeant on the Security Forces Assist Advisor Team (SFAAT), where he deployed to Afghanistan with the Brigade as part of Operation Enduring Freedom ‘12-‘13.

His awards and decorations include 3 Bronze Star Medals, 3 Meritorious Service Medal, 3 Army Commendation Medal, 4 Army Achievement Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Armed Forces Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, Southwest Asia Service Medal, NATO Service Medal,  and the Airborne Badge. MSG Wright is a recipient of the Draper Armor Leadership Award, the Armor Association’s Honorable Order of Saint George.
