Department of Art & Art History

The Department of Art and Art History at the University of South Alabama offers undergraduate and graduate degree programs in art, art history and creative technologies, along with a minor in art.

A Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Visual Arts can be earned with a concentration in either Art History or Studio Art.

While earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA), you can choose from one of nine concentrations: Animation, Art History, Ceramics, Graphic Design, Painting, Photography, Sculpture, Glass and Printmaking. Most concentrations also have their own assocation, which promotes activities based on students' common interests and art forms.

Students may also pursue a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Creative Technologies and Practice.

South glass-blowing program is the only one of its kind in the state, and the only one at a public institution in the southeast. You can also take advantage of internships and study abroad programs.
