• Spanish word, carta (postal letter) - looks and sounds like the English word cart.
  
• Imagine a letter sitting inside a shopping cart.
  
• Spanish word, tarjeta (card) - looks like the English word target.
  
• Imagine your credit card with a big red bull's-eye in the middle.
  
• French word, chien (dog) - looks like the English word chain.
  
• Imagine a dog with a chain collar, or on a chain leash.
  
• Make a note to test yourself on these three words two days from now.
