Work: Exploration, planning,decision-making,development, Protean careers in changing global environment, unemployment/underemployment/retirement, gender and multicultural identity challenges, resilience.

Construct of Encouragement: Assessment (scale development) and application throughout lifespan (children, adolescents, adults, couples, aged, groups).

Counseling and Psychotherapy: The process, constructs and skills of helping individuals and adults of all ages (individuals, couples, groups).


International Understanding: Encouraging and facilitating global engagements.

  Biographical Information  

Born and raised in rural Midwest. Spent post-doctoral years in the South, in Georgia and Alabama, except when living and teaching in Europe and in the Far East. Have taught a wide range of courses in related disciplines of education, counseling, and psychology. Have served as a program coordinator/leader for most of career, but also worked in university clinics and in private practice. Special interests in group work.
