An Alabama native, Dr. Kinniburgh spent 17 years as an elementary teacher in central and north Alabama. She served as an assistant principal/teacher during the last ten of those. She was an elementary principal for two years, and then moved into the higher education arena. She served on the faculty of Athens State University for four years, and then moved to Boca Raton, Florida. She was a faculty member in elementary education and educational leadership at Lynn University. Dr. Kinniburgh was a trainer for the language development module for the Alabama Reading Initiative, and also served as a trainer for the summer Reading Academies in Palm Beach County in south Florida through Just Read, Florida. She has presented numerous training sessions in all areas of reading and English as a Second Language. |
