The Department offers the Master of Education degree (M.Ed.) to prepare candidates for Alabama Class A Certification in the following areas: Educational Leadership , Elementary Education , Early Childhood Education , Reading Education , Secondary Education (Art Education , English for Speakers of Other Languages , English/Language Arts , Mathematics , Social Science , General Science ), and Special Education (Collaborative Teaching K-6 , Collaborative Teaching 6-12 , Early Childhood Special Education and Gifted ).
The Department also offers the Alternative Master’s degree (M.Ed) to prepare candidates for Alabama Class A Certification in the following areas: Elementary Education , Secondary Education (Art Education , English for Speakers of Other Languages , English/Language Arts , Mathematics , Social Science , General Science , French , Spanish , German ) and Special Education (Collaborative Teaching K-6 , Collaborative Teaching 6-12 , and Early Childhood Special Education ).
The Department also offers the Instruction Specialist degree (Ed.S.) to prepare candidates for Alabama Class AA Certification in Educational Leadership , Elementary and Early Childhood Education , English Language Arts , General Science , Mathematics , General Social Science and Special Education (Collaborative Teaching K-6 , Collaborative Teaching 6-12 ).
