Media Services is responsible for Acquiring, building, repairing, maintaining, support, and installation of computer-related equipment for classrooms, computer labs, and faculty. The coordinator is responsible for supporting classroom technology and video conferencing rooms, and scheduling the computer labs for student use, classes, and special events.
Computer Labs
The College of Education maintains five computer labs and a media check-out facility in the University Commons Building. These facilities are available for use by College of Education students, faculty and classes.
Labs are open for College of Education students and faculty on the following schedule:
Monday through Thursday:
7:45AM until 10:00PM
Friday:
7:45AM until 8:00PM
Saturday and Sunday:
1:00PM until 6:00PM
Labs are closed for holidays and between terms when classes are not in session.
USA ID indicating Major in College of Education is required for access to the labs.
All computers have the Microsoft XP operating system, Microsoft Office Suite, fast Internet connectivity, printing capability, and a wide array of software programs.
Lab assistants are available to assist students with questions about using computers and to ensure stocks of necessary supplies are maintained.
Other Media Services
The media check-out also provides video cameras to faculty for use in classes, workshops, and other activities as well as lamination services. Headphones and data storage disks may be obtained from the media check-out.
All classrooms within the college have Internet connections, a multi media podium, computer and large screen projection. Several classrooms and conference rooms are equipped for video conferencing over IP. One small computer lab is located in the HPELS building and is available for HPELS majors.
