 Pearson-I move to approve the minutes from (date) by acclimation.

Officer Reports

President Proctor- The EC and Senate Pro Tem will have lunch tomorrow with Chris Willis, facilities manager. Allied Health newspaper box removed due to request of the Dean of the College of Nursing. Another box will be put in the new dining hall. Students can get a $20 flu shot in the Student Health Center, no appointment needed. Thanks for all who supported Jonathan Sprinkles.

Vice President Al-Greene- Homecoming Elections Dates: Sept. 30-applications go out; Oct. 11-applications due at 5:00/meeting with all candidates; Oct. 19-21- elections; Oct. 25-26-run-off elections; Nov.3-6 week of homecoming

Treasurer Baldwin- Appropriations budget balance is $53,643.47; Operating budget balance is $2,166.15; Travel Grant requests for $700. Club Football has a $2,000 request under co sponsorships and Scabbard and Blade was approved of $299.64 last, the representative has new information to present in hopes of getting the full $2,000 requested.

Attorney General Macon- I apologize for missing last week. We will vote to excuse my absence under Special Orders. Duck Sale tickets due date has been extended to November 8. This Thursday or Friday we will have a table set up at Humanities selling tickets and signing people up with voter registration.

Chief Justice Shephard- At our meeting with Chief Gamache and Dean Mitchell, we discussed some possibilities for parking, so hopefully you will be seeing some changes implemented in the near future. Under Special Orders, I will be confirming Marcelinia Speller and Riley Davis as our new Transfer and Freshman At Large.

Ramsey- I move to open the floor for discussion of Marcelinia Speller and Riley Davis.

Proctor- Marcelinia transferred here from Southern Miss. While she was there she worked with their SGA on the “Random Acts of School Spirit Committee”. She is interested in recruitment and school spirit. Riley was Executive President at Davidson High School, she worked with many clubs, and she was on DIMUN so she has an extensive knowledge of Robert’s Rule. She is interested in working with recycling and getting the freshmen on campus more involved.

Jones- Do you have any plans right now?

Davis- I don’t have anything planned yet. I’m still trying to see what’s realistic, so I don’t have anything set in stone yet.

Ramsey- I move to close the floor and confirm Marcelinia Speller as the Transfer At Large and Riley Davis as Freshman At Large.

Committee Reports

Student At Large Pittman- We had a great win last week as our first away game. This weekend we will play Kentucky Wesleyan at 4:00 at Ladd.

Pro Tem Perry- We will have a senators meeting this week. I will send out a message about times.

Johnston- Homecoming packets are going out at the same time as Elections packets and they are due at the same time. Make sure that you tell everyone in your organizations so that the word gets spread out.

Sells-I need to meet with the Appropriations Committee briefly after the meeting.

Sells- I move to open the floor for discussion of Attorney General Macon’s absence.

Proctor- We passed around his excuse last week.

Perry- I move to close the floor.

Gessner- I move to approve Cameron’s excuse.

Gessner- Although I think it’s a good cause, but I don’t think that we should break the 3 semester rule.

Schneider- I see no problem with this.

Hall- I move to close the floor and appropriate $809.11 to AKD/Sociology Club

Representative- We use this money for our annual Deep South Regional Star Gaze/

Schneider- I move to close the floor and appropriate $332

Representative- The speaker for this semester has not been confirmed yet. Not sure of date. Total cost not set yet either, but it would cover transportation and lodging for them.

Husain-I don’t think we should approve any money because nothing has been set.

Schneider-I move to close the floor.

Ramsey-I move to open the floor for USA Club Football

Representative- This year has been our biggest turnout with about 55 players. We need more equipment

Baldwin- They did receive $2,000 in the summer. We have no receipts or proof of equipment.

Sells-Can’t appropriate anymore. They already received the $2000 in the summer

Proctor- You all could try fundraising.

Wolf-I move to open the floor for discussion of the Cricket Club

Pearson-I move to close the floor.

Gessner- I move to appropriate $328.40.

Sells- I move to reopen the floor for discussion of Physics and Astronomy. It looks like there are 2 vehicles per organization. The total being $434 per vehicle. Total all together is $509. I move to appropriate $509 to Physics.

Calhoun- I move to open the floor for discussion of AMWA. It has been around for 3 years. It was only first registered this semester. They host the Residency Fair which gives medical students the opportunity to network.

Schneider- I move to close the floor.

Ramsey- I move to open the floor for discussion of Supplemental Travel Grant. We have a request of $700, but none have been passed this semester.

Proctor- This is strictly for academic purposes. It needs to be re-approved this semester.

Ramsey-I move to postpone.

Proctor- Oct. 18 is dinner at Pres. Moulton’s house

Perry- Thanks to Senators Byrd and Gessner for doing such a good job with College Days. Welcome to the new senators. Don’t forget about office hours.
