Roll Call
Approval of the Minutes
-Minutes from last meeting approved by acclimation.
Officer Reports
President Al-Greene – This Thursday
myself, Dean Mitchell, and the representative from USA Today are going to meet
about our paper usage for the papers we get. Basically we’re going to see if
there needs to be changes in locations of the papers and things like that. Any
suggestions?
Ramsey – Since there is a new
Engineering building you might want to take that into consideration.
Ward – Allied Health building.
President Al-Greene – That’s an ongoing
issue that we’re looking at, maybe putting it in the coffee shop or something.
We also met with some people from Campus Recreation in regards to renovations
to the SGA Pavilion such as painting and things like that. They’re going to
look into getting price quotes for us and next semester I’ll bring back more
information.
Vice President Byrd – I just need to speak with Weatherly, Bubbett, and Purnell after the
meeting.
Treasurer Lawkis – We’re having
appropriation information meetings on the 25th and 26th
at 5:15 in the SGA office. We’ll do the actual appropriations meeting either on
the 31st of January or February 1st and we’ll do a second
one on either February 7th or February 8th at 5:15, so
I’ll let you guys pick those dates. Our budget meetings will be on February 6th
and February 13th.
Attorney General Arditi – No
report.
Chief Justice Wolf – No report.
Pro Temp Wilson – Your office hours are due next Monday by
5:00.
Special Orders
Dr. Mitchell – This is the time to start thinking about
next year and what you’re going to do on SGA next year. I encourage all the
senators to talk to the folks on Exec Board right now to see if you would be
interested in any officer positions next year. I think we’ve got some great
leadership potential in this group, and I look forward to seeing these faces
transition to some of those faces up there. I’m also available for questioning,
so start thinking about what you want to do now. I also wanted to introduce
someone from our leadership class. Her name is Samantha and she is one of our
leadership students that might be interested in joining SGA next year. Elizabeth
is also a peer leader for this class and her birthday is today.
Committee Reports
Chastain – If Rules Committee could meet after this meeting
that would be great because we have to have our big meeting next week. I also
need one representative from each college to be there.
Announcements
Vice President Byrd – Our last meeting
is next week.
