Officer Reports
President Gardner – I posted the candidate list for SGA elections so you all can see who is running. I also want to move the 1,000 dollars elections money back into Senate Projects. I do not plan on using it.
Vice President Proctor – I hope everyone looked over the amendments I wanted to revise. If you have any questions please ask. After we open the floor for discussion the Senate Clerk will read the description to clarify the changes. Also, only five weeks left in school. Make sure you keep up you’re your office hours.
Treasurer Baldwin – We have a list of things to quickly get through tonight. We need to discuss the Special Students Senate Project, RLC Senate Project, and the AAUW Conference that Carly and Kim will be attending. Lastly, as President Gardner stated early we need to make a motion to move $100 dollars from election funds to Senate Projects.
Attorney General Bettis – I got an email from the Higher Education Committee about awards for the efforts we put forth. We are trying to get students together that will be willing to attend. It will be on May 4th in Montgomery.
Chief Justice Al-Greene – I spoke with the parking committee about making route from UCON to the Nursing building. This will help parking and getting to class on time. If it doesn’t work they will try something else. This new route will begin either in the summer or the upcoming fall.
Student At Large Pittman – No Report
Committee Reports
Senator Perry – A group of us with Dean Mitchell went to Southern Miss this week to review their Fresh Foods Concept by Aramark. It was actually really nice and efficiently run. I am really confident about the new food. It shows that the company isn’t problem. It appears it just happens to be the University.
Senator Jones- They had really nice layout. They had several places the included Powerhouse Dinning. It is really neat what they can do. Only concern is for those that wanted to just sit and hang out with your friends that won’t be possible. You cannot just visit, you have to play to get into the building. Receive five guest passes. There seem to be many benefits. The Aramark employees were also very friendly.
Senator Ramsey – From the appropriations committee we have one more request that we will do next week.
Senator Perry – From the homecoming committee, we are playing the Henderson state Readies on November 26. Take any ideas you have and let me and student involvement know.
Senator Sells – I wanted to expand on Senator Ramsey’s report. It was something that we threw it around and we have decided we wanted to honor the very late appropriations request. We had some extra money and instead of just collecting dust we want to put it to use.
Special Reports
Dean Mitchell – We have a new program that Dr. Delmas in education program is here to discuss with us tonight.
Dr. Delmas – I came to discuss a new program we are offering for students that want to pursue a career in higher education. It involves course that is a 33 hour program. It is offered all online or about 40% can be taken as actual classes. (Has flyers to pass around).
Old Business
Senator Ramsey – Opens the floor for discussion of the Sailing Club. The sailing club came here two weeks ago we didn’t go into further detail because we wanted to come up with exact price and the local owner could not match the price so they wanted to go ahead and appropriate the money to the out of state seller.
Senator Guy – I move to close the floor for discussion.
Senator Guy – I want to approve to $2494.68 the Sailing Club.

New Business
Senator Ramsey – I move to open the floor for discussion of Amendment 700.1.2
Senate Clerk Wallace– Reads Amendment 700.1.2
Vice President Proctor- We discussed this in the past weeks. The idea is to push up the due date for the packets so that the committee has more time to deliberate.
Senator Guy- I move to close the floor for discussion.
Senator Jones – I moves to move Amendment 700.12 to the Legal Affairs Committee
Senator Guy – I move to open the floor for discussion of Amendments 308-310.
Senate Clerk Wallace– Reads Amendments 308-310.
Vice President Proctor- I have seen that the Senate and the Non-Senate Committees haven’t been working well together. For instance, confidentially reasons the Judicial Committee can’t be part of Chief Justice Al-Greene’s decisions or go in his place to the hearings. I think government affairs would be a better place to move this committee. Homecoming Committee Chair would be elected in summer and work into the fall. Social Development would be the assistant. Student Affairs needs to work with the safety and athletic chair. It is not in the constitution to make these changes but, we still need to pass it on the senate floor.
Senator Guy- I move to close the floor for discussion.
Senator King –I moves to send Amendments 308-310 to the Legal Affairs Committee.
Senator Sells – I move to open the floor for discussion of the AAUW conference.

Senator Guy – Maybe they can waive the team fee because we just approved the cabinets.
Senator Guy – I move to close the floor for discussion.
Senator King – I move to open the floor for discussion of Oozeball.
Vice President Proctor –We had two teams last year without a fee, but I don’t know if that will be honored this year. We need to have at least 3 girls and 3 boys. I will send out a signup sheet.
