Employees traveling outside the continental United States will need to complete the following steps:
Note 1: NO TRAVEL ARRANGEMENTS are to be made prior to doing the international travel review (ITRF) and receiving written departmental and college approval. USA will NOT REIMBURSE TRAVELERS for expenses incurred if PRIOR approvals are NOT obtained. (See Policy Document)
You will receive documentation from the Office of International Education to include in this approval process.
Is your proposed grant funded travel compliant with the FLY AMERICA ACT? Check with your grant administrator and/or the USA Research Compliance and Assurance if you are not sure.
READ and ATTACH the ITRF review documentation emailed to you from the Office of International Education to the USA Request for Professional Leave/Travel form as appropriate to your respective administrative unit.
Submit all leave/travel requests to your respective academic/administrative unit department/unit heads and VP offices for Approval. NOTE: NO REIMBURSEMENT for approvals done after the fact.
Once approved by your respective administrative unit make travel plans as appropriate based on USA policies:
