About Commissioner Stephen Nodine:
An innovative thinker and tireless promoter of Mobile County, Stephen Nodine has played a major role in creating thousands of new jobs for the Gulf Coast.
As Mobile County Commission President, Nodine has been an integral part of creating an economic growth in the area. In the last year, ThyssenKrupp Steel announced it would build a four billion-dollar facility in Mobile County, Austal USA announced it would expand shipbuilding operations on the Mobile River, and Northrop Grumman/EADS was awarded a contract to build refueling tankers for the U.S. Air Force at Mobile’s Brookley Field. Nodine and the Mobile County Commission provided unique and creative incentives to allow all three of these projects to come about.
While creating job opportunities and growing the economy, Nodine has also been taking care of business in his district. Nodine has worked hard to build and improve roads, parks, playgrounds, libraries, and senior centers. He has also supported area schools. Taking care of seniors and children has always been his top priority.
Nodine became a Mobile County Commissioner in 2004 after serving three years as a Mobile City Councilman. Prior to running for public office, Nodine was a small business owner and a political and media consultant. Nodine served in United States Army for seven years.
A native of West Palm Beach, Florida: Nodine lives in Mobile with his wife Kimberlee and son Christopher. He enjoys golfing and spending time at the beach.
