Position Announcement -- Coordinator of Collection Management (Revised 9/20/05)

This is a twelve month, departmental level, tenure track library faculty position that reports directly to the Dean of University Libraries.  The major responsibilities of the position are as follows:

The Coordinator of Collection Management (CM):

QUALIFICATIONS:

• MLS from an ALA accredited institution
• Management experience at the library department level
• Acquisitions, collection development and collection assessment experience in a university library
• Thorough understanding of business operations such as accounting, cost analysis, procurement, contracts   and licenses, and statistical analysis
• A management style that empowers others & can effect positive change & concrete results
• Experience with SCT Banner or similar system (SAS, People Soft)
• Experience with Endeavor’s acquisitions system or its equivalent
• Experience managing electronic licenses/costs
• A broad academic background with an understanding of the principles & philosophies
  of library & information science & library services, as well as library technologies, trends and issues
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and effectively with faculty & staff in a similar academic   library setting
• Superior communication and interpersonal skills
• Publications or professional service
• A second graduate degree in accounting or an MBA (preferred)
