Q. Who is my advisor?
A. Your advisor will be assigned to you at Orientation. If you have forgotten who they are, you should contact theRegistrar's Office , or your academic department . This information is also available on PAWS .
Q. Can I go ahead and get advised?
A. It is strongly recommended that students wait until Orientation to be advised, however, if you feel that you cannot wait until that time, you may contact your department to see if you can set up an appointment.
Q. With an undecided major, where can I get help?
A. Within the College of Arts and Sciences, contact the Student Advising Office.
Q. With a business major, can I get real world interaction?
A. Within the Mitchell College of Business, there are opportunities for interested students to intern with local businesses (varying according to department, semester, and availability). The college also houses the USA Small Business Development Center and the Center for Business & Economic Research . Additionally, the college frequently hosts lectures from successful professionals.
Q. What do I need to do to change my major?
A. If you have not been to Orientation yet, you may contact the Office of Admissions or you can change your major at Orientation. If you have already been to Orientation, you should contact the Registrar's Office .
Q. How do I know what classes to take?
A. If you don't know what classes to take, you should talk with your academic advisor and check your USA Bulletin .
Q. How do I find a course number?
A. Course numbers are listed in the first column of the course schedule for each semester.
Q. Where are the course schedules?
A. You can view the schedule of courses via PAWS online or you can pick up a printed copy from the Registrar's Office.
Q. When do classes start?
A. Classes begin on different days each year, so please check the Academic Calendar for current dates.
