Florsheim Shoes, Inc. Donation Helps MCOB Students Dress for Success

Florsheim Shoes, Inc.

Florsheim Shoes, Inc.  is providing 15 pairs of men's shoes for the new MCOB clothes closet.  The company is also making available a substantial discount for MCOB students to order shoes that retail for $100 for $45.00.  “I don't know if faculty are eligible to order at the discount, but, in effect, we're all lifelong students” suggested Dean Wood.

The Florsheim Shoe Company began in Chicago in 1892 and opened its first retail location soon after. The company is known for its high quality shoes designed with clean lines and high quality materials.  In World Wars I and II, the Company provided boots to soldiers, contributing as much as one-half of their production to the war effort in Second World War.

The MCOB Clothes Closet is housed in the MCOB and accepts donations for students who need professional clothes for interviews, internships, and job assignments.  To donate gently worn business clothes or new items, or to make a cash donation, please contact Dr. Sonya Clark, Director, Professional Readiness Engagement Program in the MCOB: sclark@southalabama.edu or (251) 341-3081.
