Beta Alpha Psi

Beta Alpha Psi was recognized as a Superior Chapter by the International Beta Alpha Psi organization.  Recognition as a Superior Chapter is a significant accomplishment. According to Merle Hopkins, President of Beta Alpha Psi, the chapter has far exceeded the baseline requirements of Beta Alpha Psi and has excelled in the areas of academics, professionalism, and leadership.  The organization also participated in Get Connected Day. 

Financial Management Association

FMA participated in Get Connected Day.  Dr. Reid Cummings was our guest speaker in September.  He discussed Real Estate development and talked about the new Real Estate Concentration.  The organization had one meeting in which students discussed fundraising for their annual trip to New York City to visit the New York Stock Exchange and other businesses.  If you would like to support the organization, please contact Dr. Hunsader. 

Professional Sales and Marketing Club

The Professional Sales and Marketing Club had three meetings in September and they participated in Get Connected Day.  At the first meeting, Dr. Sonya Clark presented on Group Communication.  In the second meeting members discussed a marketing project for ARF's (Animal Rescue Foundation) annual event, Woofstock.  During the third meeting members created different flyers for each target market (children and family, college students, downtown, etc.) to publicize Woofstock.

Society for Human Resource Management

Mr. Donald Keeler, Vice President of Human Resources at Austal USA spoke to the members of the Society for Human Resource Management.  Mr. Keeler discussed the importance of being knowledgeable about the business and understanding the company’s strategy to ensure everything the HR Department does supports the strategy.  SHRM participated in the MCOB Get Connected Day, the chapter had a silent auction to raise money for their planned trip to the Alabama State Student SHRM Conference in October.
