| JOB DUTIES |
Clinical
Diagnosis Management:
The resident screens requested examinations for proper indications.
Identifies contra-indications and suggests alternatives. Obstains
relevant information if indication is unclear. Displays basic
understanding of examination and procedure protocols, including
Trauma ultrasound and Trauma CT. Recommends basic examinations
and procedures. Supervises and screens patient sedations.
Performs Pre-procedural consultations and orders. Performs
Post-procedural orders and follow-up. Performs Preliminary
reports. Performs Final report* (with faculty only). Performs
Dictation of basic reports. |

Clinical
Non-Invasive Management:
The resident performs (after relevant rotation experience)
the basic Gastrointestinal Radiology Procedures, Genitourinary
Radiology Procedures, Computered Tomographic Procedures, Ultrasound
Procedures, including Trauma ultrasound, Magnetic Resonance
Imaging Procedures, Nuclear Medicine Procedures and Fluoroscopy-Guided
Lumbar Punctures. |

Invasive (Operative Management):
The resident performs (after relevant rotation experience)
the basic Angiographic Procedures: Learns venous and arterial
accesses, Interventional Procedures: Simple biopsies and drainages,
performs basic activities during daily rounds and at the clinics.
Learns materials to be used, avoidance and management of complications.
Performs Myelograms, Arterograms (including MR arthrograms).
Performs Joint aspiratrions, Performs Peadiatric Gastrointestinal
Procedures, and Pediatric Genitourinary Procedures. Performs
Nuclear Medicine: Calculates iodine therapy doses for malignant
and benign thyroid disease. Calculates palliative doses for
pain treatment. |

(including MR arthrograms). Performs Joint aspirations and
Pediatric Gastrointestinal Procedures. Performs Pediatric
Genitourinary Procedures. Performs Nuclear Medicine: Calculate
iodine therapy doses for malignant and benign thyroid disease.
Calculates palliative doses for pain treatment. |

starts routine vascular interventions. Performs Interventional

Joint aspirations and Pediatric Gastrointestinal Procedures,
Pediatric Genitourinary Procedures. Performs Nuclear Medicine:
calculates iodine therapy doses for malignant and benign thyroid
disease. Calculates palliative doses for pain treatment. |

report*. (with faculty only). Performs Dictation of reports. |

Angiographic Procedures: Initiation of patient evaluation
and preparation, starting all cases and active participation
in organization and function of the Special Procedure sections.
Performs Interventional procedures. Performs Myelograms, Arthrograms
(including MR arthrograms). Performs Joint aspirations. Performs
Pediatric Gastrointestinal procedures, and Pediatric Genitourinary
procedures. Performs Nuclear Medicine: Calculates iodine therapy
doses for malignant and benign thyroid disease. Calculates
palliative doses for pain treatment. Declares and documents
brain death. This test is performed “on call”.
The resident may give preliminary report, but the final report
should be checked with a faculty physician. |
