Viruses are more common than ever, posing
a threat to your files and causing loss of data. What is a
virus? A virus is a program that is designed to infect a computer
by copying itself into other computer files. The virus program
spreads when the infected files are used by or copied to another
computer system.
Viruses are commonly spread through email
attachments. The attached file when opened, executes the virus
and will in most cases attach itself to the user's address
book and send email to each user in the address book.
What is the difference between a virus
and a worm? A worm is a special type of virus that can replicate
itself and use memory but cannot attach itself to other programs.
