My first goal is to continue the positive working relationships with The University of South Alabama’s administration and with the USA Foundation that have been built by the past chairs’ work. These relationships are critical to the ability of the faculty at The University of South Alabama to excel in teaching, scholarship and service.
My second goal is to increase and enhance communication between the USA Faculty Senate and the faculty. I would like to see us develop methods that will ensure that the faculty in each college is aware of the work of the Faculty Senate and has opportunities to both inform and connect with the Faculty Senate. This will mean an increased focus on the role of the Faculty Senate College Caucus leader and that of the individual senators. I look forward to this enhanced collaboration that will strengthen our Faculty Senate connections to the faculty as a whole.
