Graduates of this program will earn a DNP degree and be eligible to certify as Pediatric Nurse Practitioners. The American Association of Colleges of Nursing has set a 2015 date for full implementation of the DNP as the entry level for advanced practice.

| While NPPC/DNP classes are taught online, all students enrolled in MCN 548 (first NPPC clinical course) in the fall of 2013, are required to attend a mandatory two (2) day orientation. The orientation will be held August 23-24, 2013. Check-in will begin on Friday, August 23, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in the Health Sciences Lobby and attendees will be dismissed at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, August 24, 2013. Attendance is required and will allow for questions and interaction with course faculty. Various clinical skills workshops will be held during the orientation. | |
