Clery Act

As the Chief of Police my highest priority is the safety of the University of South Alabama and so I am pleased to report to you that the newly revised Annual Security and Fire Report is now available. Please take the time to read this document as it contains information that will help keep you and others on campus safe. Community safety is a cooperative effort in which each individual member of the community plays an important role in making our University a safe and pleasant place to live, work, learn and play.

The annual security and fire safety compliance document is available on this page by clicking on the link below. It is currently available as a PDF document which you can download to view or print.

If you would like to receive a printed copy of the Annual Security and Fire Safety Report which contains this information, you can stop by the University Police Department at 290 Stadium Blvd, Beta Gamma Commons Bldg., Mobile, Alabama or by calling 251-460-6611.

The Annual Security and Fire Report contains information regarding campus security and personal safety including topics such as crime prevention, fire safety, university police law enforcement authority, crime reporting policies, disciplinary procedures and other matters of importance related to security and safety on campus. It also provides crucial information on how to respond to emergency situations, missing persons and sexual offenses.

Additionally, the Annual Security and Fire Safety Report contains statistical data for the three previous calendar years concerning reported crimes that occurred on all university and hospital campuses and in certain off campus buildings or property owned or controlled by USA. Statistics for reported crimes on public property within or immediately adjacent to and accessible from the Brookley, Baldwin and Main campuses is included as well. It also contains fire data for all student residential facilities.

This information is required by law and is compiled by the University of South Alabama Police Department in cooperation with many other university departments/divisions including the Office of Safety and Environmental Compliance, the Division of Student Affairs and administrators and security departments from the other USA campuses and hospitals.
