Web-based DPT Miscellaneous Information
 
 

Enrollment Limitations:

For each online course minimum section size is 10 individuals while maximum section size for each course is 25 individuals.
 

Calendar of Courses:
A calendar will be developed showing which courses will be offered each semester.

Academic Policies:
Students in the Web-based DPT Program for Licensed Physical Therapists are subject to the Academic Standards for Professional Doctoral Programs in the College of Allied Health Professions as stated in the University Bulletin.

Graduation Requirements:

  1. Total of 118 Semester Credit Hours (Semester Hours-See credit hours applicable for each entry category)

  2. Minimum 3.0 Cumulative GPA for all DPT online coursework

  3. Once a physical therapist is admitted to the program, the program must be completed within three years.

 Costs:

  • An application fee of $75 (including $25 University Application fee, $50 Department Processing Fee) and a $250 Portfolio Analysis Fee must be submitted by check or credit card with the Application.

  • As of April 2008, Web Course Tuition is $236.00 per semester credit hour
    (in-state and out-of-state web course tuition are the same). Online
    students also pay a $60 registration and $15 library fee each semester that they register for a course. The University reserves the right to change tuition or
    fees, as deemed necessary by the Board of Trustees, without prior

  • Professional Liability Insurance:  $12.00 (only during the semester you are registered for PT 695).

 Technology Requirements:

  • Students in this web-based program are required to have a computer and Internet access compatible with the e-College system. Computer, browser and monitor specifications are outlined at http://usaonline.southalabama.edu/index.real?action=technical.  This site also includes a “Browser Test” you can use to evaluate your computer.

  • Students must also have the Microsoft Office software that includes Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Individuals accepted into the program will be notified approximately 3 weeks after the applicant's deadline nd a student number (J-number) and “Jaguar1” email address will be assigned.
