Ishara Ramkissoon, Ph.D. joined the faculty
in the Department of Speech Pathology and Audiology at the University of
South Alabama in 2005, and she was awarded tenure in August 2011. Dr. Ramkissoon
teaches graduate classes in the audiology clinical doctorate (Au.D.)
program. Her areas of research include aging, multicultural issues, and
health disparities using behavioral audiometry and electrophysiology. She
has published on these topics in leading journals. Dr. Ramkissoon has
presented her research at national and international conferences. Dr.
Ramkissoon received her PhD from the University of Illinois in May 2005.
She is a certified audiologist (CCC-A) and has extensive clinical experience
in medical and community audiology practice.
