Faculty Development/Arts & Sciences Workshops

Academic Advising Workshop: Every semester The Advising Center offers advising workshops for new and continuing full-time faculty. The workshops cover major university and college requirements, student forms, and degree audits. The Advising Center will e-mail the A & S faculty announcing the dates, times, and locations of the workshops. Advising Center personnel will also give advising workshops to the A & S departments upon request. Individual A & S faculty members are encouraged to contact Nancy Howell (461-1705), Supervisor of Advising, if they have questions about degree requirements.
Part-time Faculty Policy Workshop: At the beginning of both the fall and spring semesters, Dr. Victoria L. Rivizzigno, Assistant Dean, will give a workshop focusing on university and college policies such as syllabus requirements, academic disruption, and grade replacement for part-time A & S faculty. An e-mail will be sent to the A & S departments announcing the dates, times, and location of the workshops.
Promotion, Tenure, and Mid-probationary Workshops: Chairs of the A & S promotion and tenure committees as well as Dr. Victoria L. Rivizzigno, Assistant Dean, will hold workshops in the spring for A & S faculty going up for promotion, tenure, or mid-probationary review. The workshop will discuss how to prepare promotion, tenure, and mid-probationary materials. An e-mail will be sent to the A & S faculty announcing the dates, times, and location of the workshops.
