Mohan Menon, Professor and Chair of the Department. Professor Menon served as an assistant professor at the University of Minnesota-TCD before joining MCOB in September 1991. He received a BBA from Madurai University, an MBA from University of Madras, and a Doctorate from University of Memphis.
 
His research interests include e-commerce, international business and marketing, ethics, and logistics. His teaching interests include e-commerce, Internet marketing, international business, international marketing, and marketing management. Professor Menon is a member of the International Academy of E-Business, Academy of International Business, and Academy of Business Administration. He has presented his research at international, national, and regional meetings of these and other organizations.
 
His research has been published in Journal of Business Logistics, Journal of Applied Business Research, Sports Marketing Quarterly, International Journal of Logistics Management, Journal of Global Business, Journal of EuroMarketing, Journal of Business Ethics, Journal of Teaching International Business, American Business Review, Journal of Marketing Education, Journal of Education for Business, Journal of International Consumer Marketing, etc.

Donald R. Epley, Ph.D., CCIM, MAI is Professor of Marketing and the current holder of the Distinguished Professorship in Real Estate. He is the current Director of the Mitchell College of Business Real Estate Studies Center.
 
He has held previous appointments at the University of Alabama, University of Arkansas, Mississippi State University, and Washington State University. He is a licensed real estate broker and a certified general appraiser. He holds the CCIM designation from the Commercial and Investment Real Estate Institute and the MAI designation from The Appraisal Institute.
 

He has published eight textbooks in Principles of Real Estate, Real Estate Finance and Investments, Income Property Appraisal, and Brokerage. The current edition of Real Estate Decisions was published by Southwestern in 2001.

His research received three faculty awards at The University of Arkansas. He received the 1999 Washington State University Faculty Teaching Award from the Disabled Students Association.

In 1999, he was awarded an honorary CCIM designation from the CCIM-Institute, Chicago, in recognition of his contributions to the commercial brokerage, investment, and real estate education fields. It was the first award given by the Institute.

Julie Sneath, Professor of Marketing. Professor Sneath served as assistant professor at Northeastern University and as associate professor at LaGrange College prior to joining the MCOB faculty in August 2003. She earned a BSBA from the University of Arkansas, and an MS and a PhD in Marketing from Georgia State University.
 
Her teaching interests include marketing principles, integrated marketing communications, retailing, and marketing management. Her research interests include sponsorship and event marketing, services marketing, and consumer behavior. She has presented her research at national and international meetings of the Association for Consumer Research, American Marketing Association, Sport Marketing Association, and Society for Marketing Advances. Her research has been published in the Journal of Advertising Research, Marketing Health Services, Journal of Business and Industrial Marketing, Journal of Customer Service in Marketing and Management, Journal of Consumer Marketing, Journal of Targeting, Measurement, and Analysis for Marketing, International Sports Journal, and Journal of Shopping Center Research, in addition to numerous conference proceedings.

Deborah Spake, Associate Dean & Professor of Marketing. Professor Spake served on the faculty at Western Michigan University prior to joining the Mitchell College of Business in 2001. She holds a BA from the University of South Alabama, a MA and a PhD in Marketing from the University of Alabama. Prior to teaching, she worked in the marketing research industry in Atlanta working with clients such as Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Virginia, Amoco, Georgia Pacific, Select Labs, YMCA, and United Way of Metropolitan Atlanta.

Her research interests include Services Marketing, Health Care Marketing, Advertising Management, and Business Ethics.

Her research has been published in the Journal of Applied Psychology, Journal of Advertising, Journal of Advertising Research, Journal of Service Research, Journal of Consumer Marketing, Marketing Education Review, and other academic and professional publications. She is a member of the Editorial Review Boards of the Journal of Business Research and Marketing Education Review; as well as serving as an ad hoc reviewer for other marketing journals and conferences.

Dr. Spake has been an American Marketing Association Doctoral Consortium Fellow and has won several teaching and research awards including Professor of the Year in 2000 from the National Panhellenic Conference and Inter-Fraternity Council at Western Michigan University and a Highly Commended Award for research published in the Journal of Consumer Marketing from Emerald Publishing’s Literati Network in 2008.

   
 
   
   
  Alvin Williams

Dr. Alvin Williams received his bachelor’s degree in marketing from USM in 1974, and his masters in marketing from the University of Alabama the following year. He completed his doctorate at the University of Arkansas in 1980.

Since 1980, Williams has served the University of Southern Mississippi’s College of Business as a faculty member, department chair and, since 2007, interim dean. Prior to his work at USM, Williams was an instructor in marketing and management at the University of Arkansas and an instructor in marketing at Alabama A&M University.

In addition to his teaching and administrative duties, Williams has devoted time to professional organizations and prestigious journals, including serving as editor of the Journal of Supply Chain Management from 2003-07. He has also served as associate editor and a peer reviewer for other academic journals. He led the Society for Marketing Advances as president from 2001-02 and has written and presented dozens of academic papers to conferences across the country.

He also has conducted more than 300 presentations and seminars for business organizations on such topics as supply management, sales management and marketing strategy.

R. Zachary Finney is Assistant Professor of Marketing at the Mitchell College of Business at the University of South Alabama. He earned his Ph.D. in marketing from the University of Alabama in 2001.
 
Dr. Finney's research has been accepted for publication in numerous journals including the Journal of Business Research, the Journal of Management Education, and Marketing Management Journal. In 2003, Dr. Finney and two colleagues won the Steven J. Shaw Award for the Outstanding Conference Paper at the Society for Marketing Advances Annual Conference in New Orleans. Dr. Finney's primary area of scholarly research is marketing strategy.

Imran Khan, Instructor of Marketing. Mr. Khan received both his BS and MBA degrees from the University of South Alabama. Prior to joining the Mitchell College of Business (MCOB), Imran served as a Senior Analyst at The Yankee Group in Boston where he covered the consumer communications services markets. Mr. Khan teaches Internet Marketing, International Marketing, and Principles of Marketing.
 
His research interests include consumer and business communications and entertainment technologies and services. He specifically analyzes product development, pricing, and packaging strategies of various telecommunications services providers including cable operators, carriers, and ISPs. In addition, he monitors and analyzes regulatory developments within the telecommunications sector. Imran has routinely been quoted by some of the leading publications such as USA Today, The Miami Herald, Dallas Morning News, CNET News, E-Commerce Times, and Bloomberg News.
