Announcing Fall Commercial Real Estate Forum
Posted on July 27, 2026

The Mitchell College of Business’s real estate program is proud to announce its fall forum, "The Boom Belt: Boldness Begins Here," to be held on Tuesday, October 27 at the MacQueen Alumni Center on the campus of the University of South Alabama. The “Boom Belt” is a recently coined moniker that highlights the rapid economic expansion and urban revitalization redefining the American Southeast.
The conference will bring together commercial real estate professionals, developers, investors, and civic leaders to discuss how the growth of the "Boom Belt” is impacting the Gulf Coast Region and beyond.
Reagan Farr, co-founder, president, and CEO of Silicon Ranch, will deliver the keynote address. Farr, who previously served as Tennessee’s commissioner of revenue, leads one of the nation's top solar developers and operators. Under his leadership, Silicon Ranch has pioneered regenerative energy and agribusiness integration, maintaining the largest agrivoltaics portfolio in the United States. Farr is expected to share insights on the intersection of renewable energy infrastructure, public service, and regional economic growth.
"The Southeast has quickly become the nation’s most compelling frontier for capital investment," said Dr. Grayson Glaze, real estate program director. "This forum will be an incredible opportunity for commercial industry professionals to network and learn more about strategies driving sustainable growth, infrastructure development and revitalization across the Gulf Coast Region."
Tickets will go on sale Monday, August 3 on the program's website.
